His preference was actually for Friendly's, but sadly they have closed all their Schenectady shops. This was a celebration for my 87-year-old father, in honor of his WWII service. I called on Veteran's Day to order a pizza that we would come for in 30 minutes and stated that we didn't want to take it out to eat. Or maybe noticed and didn’t care, either way probably my last stop with so many other great options nearby. After discovering that our family's favorite local pizza restaurant, the Fireside on Eastern Parkway opposite Price Chopper, seems to be closed (their phone is disconnected -sob!!), I checked out other possibilities on TripAdvisor and selected Pizza Buono, just up Union Street from our house. Waitress didn’t seem to even notice to question as she tried to take both dinners with more than 1/2 still on the plate. That looked delicious, fresh greens and she reported the dressing was tasty. That said, my dinner companion ordered a salad with grilled chicken. Might have been able to excuse if busy, bar was with Happy Hour 4-6 nightly but we were only dinner table at 6:15. It was topped with a BSP sauce, not sure how to define it but as best as I can figure it was intended to hide the bad burger. ![]() Not enough time with a show to request a change so tried eating around the outside edge of the burger.
